For the trifold configuration that turns into the yoga couch used to support the spine in MTYoga, it is the width of the blanket that becomes the length of the yoga couch.

Below is an array of trifolded blankets I own for comparison. After several washes, their unfolded dimensions from large to small are: 59" x 82", 50" x 78", 44" x 70". From large to small their trifolded dimensions are: 14" x 28.5", 13" x 24", 11.5" x 21.5".

I am 5'8" and I found that the largest size of these three is what I need to support the full length of my spine and not leave my head dropping off the end! The large blanket is very sturdy, though there are small imperfections in the weave of one I purchased.  They are thick, which works well for the other blanket folds that are used in MTYoga.  I receive a 10% affiliate commission if you purchase them at The Yoga Warehouse.

You don't need to purchase special blankets for your yoga practice, but if the blankets you have are not the right size for your body, these are what I use and they work well for me.
